Recently, four industry standards, led and drafted by Quzhou Huayou Cobalt New Materials Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Huayou Cobalt, have been officially approved and issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). These standards fill multiple gaps in specifications for green‑low‑carbon nickel‑cobalt smelting and lithium‑battery‑material sectors, giving strong impetus to the green‑low‑carbon transition and high‑quality development of the industry.
Administered by the National Technical Committee for Non‑ferrous Metals Standardization (SAC/TC243), this set of standards is compiled in alignment with the requirements set forth in the 15th Five‑Year Plan for Green and Low‑Carbon Development in Industry, covering three major dimensions: water conservation, energy‑saving & carbon reduction, and new‑product specifications.
- YS/T 1888‑2026, Water‑Saving Enterprise — Cobalt Smelting Industry, focuses on water conservation within cobalt smelting operations;
- YS/T 1903‑2026, Technical Specification for Energy‑Saving and Carbon‑Reduction Diagnosis of Nickel Smelting Enterprises, and YS/T 1887‑2026, Technical Specification for Energy‑Saving and Carbon‑Reduction Diagnosis of Cobalt Smelting Enterprises, regulate diagnosis work for energy conservation and carbon reduction in nickel and cobalt smelting respectively;
- YS/T 1878‑2026, Cobalt‑based Composite Hydroxide for Lithium‑ion Batteries, targets new‑generation lithium‑battery materials.

The release marks further authoritative recognition of Huayou’s technical prowess in nickel‑cobalt smelting and lithium‑battery‑material sectors, and effectively elevates the Company’s discourse power and influence across the industry. Moving forward, Huayou will continue to scale up R&D investment, deepen technological innovation for green‑low‑carbon solutions and advance standard‑setting work.
