Recently, the 2026 Seminar on the Development of Standards for Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality in the Automotive Industry was held in Wuzhen. Guided by the National Technical Committee of Auto Standardization and hosted by the China Automotive Standardization Research Institute, with Huayou Cobalt as a co-organizer, the seminar brought together nearly 200 representatives from across the upstream and downstream industry chain.

At the seminar, the white paper "From Precision Accounting to Low-Carbon Decision-Making: Carbon Footprint Practice in the Power Battery Industry Chain" was officially released, drawing wide industry attention. Taking a typical ternary battery cell as the research sample, and factoring in electricity consumption time periods and regional characteristics, the white paper matches electricity carbon emission factors on an hourly basis to complete a full-chain carbon footprint accounting from raw material extraction to cell manufacturing. The calculation shows that through a combination of measures — including optimizing production scheduling, introducing low-carbon electricity, building a green supply chain, and improving energy utilization efficiency — there remains approximately 7%–22% room for reducing the carbon footprint of battery cells.

As a key contributor to the white paper, Huayou Cobalt leverages its integrated industrial advantages in "resource development – green smelting – materials manufacturing – recycling" to provide strong support for the data accounting. The Company will showcase this accounting system and its practical methodology to the international community during the UN Climate Change Conference (COP31), and actively promote its elevation into industry and international standards, helping China's low-carbon practices gain global recognition.

During the seminar, Huayou Cobalt, together with industry chain partners, launched the "Global Initiative on Refined Carbon Footprint Management and Low-Carbon Development for the Automotive and Power Battery Industry Chain,"which is planned to be officially unveiled in Türkiye during COP31. Going forward, the Company will continue to unite the decarbonization efforts of the global industry chain and jointly promote the green, low-carbon and high-quality development of the new energy industry.
