On May 19 (Harare local time), Huayou Cobalt, the Harare Institute of Technology (HIT) of Zimbabwe, and Ningbo University of Technology gathered at the Harare Institute of Technology to formally sign a cooperation agreement, jointly witnessing the signing and unveiling ceremony of the China-Zimbabwe College of Engineering and Technology. This marks a key milestone for Huayou Cobalt and its partners in deepening collaboration and fostering development, as well as a landmark event for China and Zimbabwe in joining hands in vocational education. On May 21 (Zimbabwe time), Dr. Jorem Gambo, Special Advisor to the President of Zimbabwe and Head of the Government Project Supervision and Implementation Task Force, paid an official visit to Huayou Cobalt’s Zimbabwe Base for a dedicated inspection.

On May 10, the 2026 China Brand Value Evaluation Report was officially released in Deqing, Zhejiang. Hosted by the China Council for Brand Development and the Brand Office of Xinhua News Agency, and organized by China Brand magazine, the event saw Huayou Cobalt secure an outstanding brand value of 19.478 billion yuan and a brand strength index of 861, ranking 26th in the energy and chemical industry list—an upgrade of 2 places from last year. On April 25 (local time), the Zimbabwe Lithium Sulfate Project held a ceremony for its first product shipment. This milestone signals the project’s full transition from construction and commissioning to stable production. Huayou has become the first Chinese enterprise to achieve localized lithium sulfate production in Zimbabwe, a landmark achievement for Huayou’s overseas mining-metallurgy integration strategy.

On the banks of the Danube, the wind carries new sounds of industry; thousands of miles away, dreams take root on overseas land. Traveling over 8,000 kilometers across mountains and seas to the Central European heartland, the construction site of the Huayou Bamian Hungary High-Nickel Ternary Cathode Green Intelligent Manufacturing Project is bustling with tower cranes and vigorous momentum. Currently, production line debugging is steadily wrapping up, and all builders are working hard at the critical juncture of customer sample delivery and full production, writing a chapter of Huayou's industrial responsibility and global vision.

On March 26, Huayou Cobalt, together with a major partner bank's financial leasing subsidiary and the Lingang New Area Management Committee of Shanghai, successfully launched the nation's first-ever benchmark project under the new cross-border finance lease pilot policy — an SPV (Special Purpose Vehicle) cross-border finance lease for nickel smelting production line equipment. The signed project has a scale of nearly 1.5 billion RMB, with the first phase precisely deployed at 370 million RMB. This not only set a new milestone in Huayou Cobalt's cross-border investment and financing innovation but also achieved a breakthrough and pioneering leap in the company's structured financing model. The entire business adopts RMB-denominated closed-loop settlement, which fundamentally mitigates cross-border operational exchange rate fluctuation risks, and, by leveraging the real industrial chain scenario, stands as a benchmark innovation demonstration case for advancing the internationalization of the RMB.

On March 18, the "Tide Above · 2026 Zhejiang Entrepreneurs Theme Conference" was held at the Zhejiang Provincial People's Great Hall. During the meeting, the "2025 Zhejiang Enterprise Growth Sample" was announced. On January 28, Vice Secretary Fan Shunke of the China Non-Ferrous Metal Industry Association visited the Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park (IMIP), deeply visiting the Huayue Project for exchange to gain an on-the-ground understanding of the development of Chinese-funded enterprises in Indonesia's nickel industry sector.

Recently, the National Intellectual Property Administration announced the 2025-2027 Intellectual Property Powerhouse Construction Demonstration Creation List. **Zhejiang Huayou Cobalt Co., Ltd. and its subsidiary Huayou New Energy Technology (Quzhou) Co., Ltd. were successfully selected for the "National Intellectual Property Demonstration Enterprise Creation Candidate" list.**

During the 2026 World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting, the white paper "Circularity Leads the Future: Unlocking the Circular Economy Value of Power Batteries and Critical Minerals," researched and written under the leadership of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, was officially released.
